Points of Interest

Curious about when that subscription may begin? Wondering when to expect your tubers? What areas do we service? Refer to the below points of interest for summarised answers. Of course, feel to reach out if you don’t find an answer to your question!

Q: When should I expect to receive gift certificates?

A: Gift Certificates will be delivered via snail mail, so please allow 3-5 business days to receive your gift certificate, or for the giftee/recipient to receive their gift certificate. Once ordered, please allow 3-5 business days before receiving.

Q: When should I expect my subscription to begin?

A: That depends on your subscription. Whether you were gifted a subscription, or purchased one for yourself (yay, you!), each individual subscription will begin at the same time. Tulip subscriptions will begin as soon as the first tulips are harvested, and that is typically end of March-mid April. Spring subscriptions begin with tulips and therefore start alongside the tulip subscription. Summer subscriptions will begin the 2nd week of July and will extend through the last week of August. Dahlia subscriptions begin the first week of September. Subscribers will be notified of the beginning of their subscription, 2 weeks prior to the start date.

Q: How should I contact with any questions?

A: Email and Facebook messaging is the ideal way to contact with any questions. You can email us directly at - esther@kairosflowers.com, or fill out a contact form here on the website. Facebook messenger will be a more direct way to contact.

Q: When does tuber shipping begin?

A: The Great Tuber Ship is a rather stressful and involved ordeal, mercy and patience extended is greatly appreciated. We will be doing things a bit differently this year, so that we get orders out in a timelier manner, with more ease and less hassle. Our goal is to dedicate the month of April as the month of shipping. Early shipping MUST be requested, and WILL NOT be honoured if not directly asked for.

Q: Can I combine shipping orders?

A: Our business is rather chill, so ordering tubers shouldn’t be a hassle or a mad-dash to grab fancy tubers. Simply because I don’t like that environment, I don’t want to replicate it. If you do place one order, and go back for seconds, we will catch multiple orders and refund the difference, only keeping ONE payment for shipping. OR you may place one order, pay for shipping, then go back for seconds and select local pick up ….. simply bypass the hassle.

Q: Where do I go to get a quote for a wedding/event/special occasion?

A: CONTACT FORMS! Email is the place to go for this…. Quotes are kept entirely via email so that a client portfolio can be created from the email sender’s requests. We will take your request and form an estimate for you from there.

Q: Do you do weddings?

A: Yes, and no. At this time we are only capable of providing florals for smaller weddings. Smaller weddings meaning bridal parties and table centerpieces. If you need a florist for a larger wedding, feel free to reach out, and we will supply highly-rated florists in the area.

Q: Can we come and tour the gardens?

A: Though it sounds like a beautiful idea, realistically, you would be sorely disappointed. In order to maintain business and keep things growing and flourishing, we keep blooms cut, and so the gardens are rather green…. It is not a sea of blooms dancing in the wind. You are welcome to pick up orders here at the property and take peak at things, but scheduled tours are not available at this point. Our gardens are a working- “farm”, and therefore whatever is ready, is harvested.

Q: Do you ship dahlia tubers?

A: Yes! Although we only ship within the US, and not internationally.

Q: Do you offer dahlia cuttings?

A: Nope. Been there, done that, don’t want to do that again anytime soon. If we do offer rooted dahlia cuttings, it will be posted for LOCAL PICK UP ONLY on our business socials.

Q: Can I combine return customer discount codes with gift certificates?

A: Yes! That is absolutely doable. In order to do this, you will need to present the physical gift certificate as a proof of how much will be deducted from the total cost. Discount codes are applied manually by customer at checkout.

Q: How do you ship dahlia tubers?

A: We use Priority shipping through the USPS. This gets your tuber order to you in 1-3 business days. We ship the beginning of each week to ensure that your tubers will not be sitting alone in unchecked conditions.

Q: Do you offer refunds on tubers that are subpar?

A: We absolutely offer refunds ONLY on tubers that have no eye. If they rot in the ground due to unforeseen circumstances/weather conditions, we will not refund for that. We will not refund for any misstep on the buyers’ behalf. If you bought the tubers and left them outside and they froze, we will not refund. If the tubers are DOA, then we are happy to refund you. Unfortunately, we will not replace tubers, as the cost of shipping is an ever-present ordeal. Dahlia tubers that are ugly but have an eye, will not be refunded. We sell plants. We sell roots. They go into the ground, under the dirt, they do not need to look pretty. If the tuber is ugly, but grows, there you go. If the tuber is ugly and it DOES NOT grow, we will refund.

Q: Can I get special discounts on multiple tubers?

A: No. You cannot. The price is the price, unless an insane quantity is on hand, and we wish to get rid of them, then we may decrease the price or offer bulk pricing. However, the entire process of growing Dahlias is insanely laborious, and the set asking price per tuber is to cover costs, labour, and care taken in every aspect. So please do not ask for discounts. We will refuse.
